Alexandra Kay Drops New Music Video for “I Hate Airplanes”
American country music singer-songwriter Alexandra Kay has dropped a new music video for “I Hate Airplanes” directed by Jordan Phoenix.
The song was released back in May as the first single from her upcoming debut album “Backroad Therapy”, which is expected to be released in October 2023.
The song reflects her experience with the struggles of a long distant relationship.
It was written by Alexandra Kay, Jason Duke, and Jason Massey who also produced the track.
She filmed the video in her home state of Missouri.
Alexandra Kay told Country Now about the video, “I was planning on going back home to visit my parents, and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh! This is perfect.’ My photographer lives in the St. Louis area, so it’s like a hometown affair when it comes to my team. Jordan, he was like, ‘I would love to shoot the video.’ So, we came to St. Louis, and he told me about this paintball facility out in Bridgeton, Missouri. He said, ‘We’re going to go out there. They have an airplane out there. We’re just going to do all the movie magic and make it look like we blew it up.’ I was like, ‘Yes! Let’s do it!’ So that was really cool!”- The debut album comprises 10-track. She told American Songwriter about the album, “We’re shooting for ten songs on the record. All new songs, which I’m so excited about. We would include a couple of my hits from the past years, but then my life shifted. I started writing about where I currently am, and then we changed the entire concept. I wanted the record to live in the now in my life. So, it’s all brand new. You guys are going to get three singles ahead of time. The full record will be out in October.”
