Gwen Stefani Returns With New Song “True Babe”
American singer-songwriter Gwen Stefani returned with a new song “True Babe” on June 23, 2023.
It is her first music in two years since the 2021 collaborative single “Slow Clap” with Saweetie.
Gwen Stefani will perform the song at BST Hyde Park Festival in London with P!nk on June 24, 2023.
The track was written by Gwen Stefani, Jacob Kasher Hindlin, Jakob Hazell, Luka Kloser, Nicole Rubio, and Svante Halldin. Produced by Jack & Coke, and KThrash.
Gwen Stefani told Official Charts about the song in an interview, “It's weird, because I've been writing for like three years to try to put something out. I have written a bunch of songs, but I feel like it's only in the last couple of months, with this team that I have now, that I've written songs that I feel really excited about. I wrote True Babe with [songwriter] Nico and [Swedish duo] Jack & Coke. A lot of times it really comes down to, like, your chemistry in the room and how comfortable you are. But this song reminds me so much of alternative music back in the day. It almost feels like it's old but new.”
