Jazmin Bean Releases New Song “Piggie”
London-based singer-songwriter Jazmin Bean released a new song “Piggie” along with a music video on June 9, 2023.
They worked with blink-182's Travis Barker on the track. Also, the song is the first single off of their upcoming album, which is expected to be released in October 2023.
The track was written by Jazmin Bean and John Feldman. Produced by Travis Barker and John Feldman.
The accompanying video was directed by Jake Schneider.
“When I got out of rehab, I looked back at pictures of myself and saw the events that were happening around me at the time,” Jazmin Bean said of the song. “I was three months clean and had lots of realisations about my life. I didn't want to combat it with a sad song. Instead, I'm poking fun at some of the men I met at the time.”
They continued, “Piggie is the closest track to the Worldwide Torture era, so I wanted to bridge the gap between the old and new sound. But honestly, what's coming next... I'm not even ready for.”- Jazmin Bean shared on social media before the release of the song, “And so the album journey embarks... my first single from my upcoming album is set to release on June 9th , I can't wait , I have have so much to show you , I know we've been talking about it for a while , this is just the tip of the iceberg for what's in my purse but to finally open these secret doors is a pleasure.”

They continued, “A message to my little lambs... When making piggie , I was beginning to embark on an album where I would basically cut myself open and strip down to every single vulnerable, shameful or painful feeling I was harbouring . All my dirty little secrets good and bad , some shame mine , some people unfairly gave to me . I didn’t know if anyone would relate to me and I didn’t really mind or expect people to . It was more about kind of stripping myself from the shame and fear of past memories and trauma . I can’t explain how emotional I’ve become reading the amount of comments saying they related to piggie , or it helped them heal or feel heard . As someone who holds a lot of pain and trauma and shame in my heart from an extreme case of grooming and abuse I experienced as a child I wanted to make my first time opening up in my music about it celebratory , I wanted to pass the shame to who it belonged to and rise above the title of a victim . I wanted to be able to make something that could digest our feelings but keep life pushing , it’s all we can do . Thank you everyone 💗 I love you” - source : Apple Music
