Jules Brave Releases New Song “Text My Mom”
American singer-songwriter Jules Brave released a new song “Text My Mom” on May 12, 2023.
The song is heartbreakingly honest, capturing the emotions of a child of divorce navigating the sudden shift of her parents' relationship.
She uses simple piano and strings to capture the bleak reality of being a kid stuck in an environment where the two most important people in your life aren't a part of each other's lives anymore.
The track was written by Jules Brave, and produced by David Francisco and Mike Baretz.
Jules Brave said of the song, “This is by far my most vulnerable, personal song yet, and I really am so grateful for all the support on it. My parents and I have never been in a better place, and I felt the need to put out this song to honor my feelings and the difficulty I had accepting my parents' divorce for a long time. This song was such a profound part of my healing and that is just one of the reasons that songwriting is so important and necessary for me.”- The song is follow-up to a duet version of “I Love U-sers” featuring Anthony Gargiula released back in January.
The original version of “I Love U-sers” was released last November, which garnered over 700k streams on Spotify.
Also, she supported British singer-songwriter dodie at NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert as backing vocals in January 2023. -
