Henry Moodie Releases New Song “eighteen”
British singer-songwriter Henry Moodie released the third single called “eighteen” along with a music video on April 7, 2023 (his birthday).
The song is the follow-up to “you were there for me” and “drunk text”.
It was written by Henry Moodie, Laurent Carroll-Wilthien, and Micky Blue. Produced by Lawrent.
The accompanying video features behind-the-scenes footage from his past few months on the tour.
Henry Moodie said of the song, “The song is all about the transition of becoming an adult and the complicated emotions that come with it. The responsibility, the pressure to decide what you want to do with your life, it can be a lot. So many go through this and will relate to the feeling. I want people to know they're not alone.”- Henry Moodie shared on social media, “Last year when i wrote 'eighteen' i felt quite lost in life. It was a phase where all my friends were applying to their uni degrees, planning their gap years or already in a job. I was finishing my songwriting course and knew that music was definitely the industry i wanted to be in. However, (as you guys probs know) the music industry is a diffffffficult industry to navigate, i struggled with the pressure i put on myself to 'make it' and the fear of not knowing what the future holds.”
He continued, “It puts a smile on my face when i listen to this song now as i've come so far from that place i was in - i've grown & matured as a person, and what you guys did to 'you were there for me' completely changed my life career-wise. Despite being in a different mental state now, the phase when i wrote 'eighteen' was a very significant part of my life & my songwriting journey. I currently have 18 days left of being 18, so this is my chance to put this one out! Therefore, to wrap up my 18th year, my 3rd single 'eighteen' comes out on my 19th birthday (April 7th).” - source : Apple Music
