Thomas Headon Premieres New Song “i loved a boy” on BBC Radio 1
London-based Australian singer-songwriter Thomas Headon premiered a new song “i loved a boy” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.
The song is his first single of 2023, was written by Thomas Headon and produced by Taka Perry.
Thomas Headon told Clara Amfo about the song, “This is the first song of mine that actually isn't from my perspective. A friend came to me while I was in Australia and was like I'm going through a breakup. I don't know what to do. And I don't know what to do either because I'm terrible at giving advice. But I went to the studio that same day, and this song came out like really naturally. So I think my brain was just like holding in what I wanted to say to them.”- He said of the song in a statement, “‘i loved a boy’ is the first song I’ve put out that isn’t from my perspective. Late last year I caught up with a friend who was going through a breakup, and I found myself really struggling to give her any advice on how to deal with it. Then going into the studio with my friend Taka Perry, it just all seemed to come right out and we wrote it really quickly. I played it live on my October and November shows and now felt like the perfect time to put it out.”
