Marshmello & Manuel Turizo Team Up for New Song “El Merengue”
American DJ Marshmello has joined forces with Colombian singer-songwriter Manuel Turizo to release a new song “El Merengue”.
This marks the first time Marshmello and Manuel Turizo have worked together.
On February 24th, the collaboration was first unveiled when Manuel Turizo appeared wearing Marshmello’s emblematic white helmet in New York City’s Times Square.
For Marshmello, the song is the follow-up to “Old School” with Ray Volpe, which was released back in February.
While, Manuel Turizo joined in the song as his first single of 2023.
The track was written by Marshmello, Manuel Turizo, Edge, Julian Turizo, Slow Mike, GALE, Nico Cotton and Juan Diego Medina.
Produced by Marshmello, Nico Cotton, Slow Mike and Edge.
The accompanying music video was directed by Chadrick Preuss and Sandeep Vadlamudi.- Manuel Turizo told Rolling Stone, “Merengue is a rhythm that all of us Latinos have within our DNA. We wanted to have the opportunity with Marshmello, such a global-recognized producer, to bring and propose another element of what he is known for in music and with other artists.”
Marshmello said, “It was an amazing experience. We had never met before and met that first day in the studio and ran with this idea. We finished the song that day front to back which was amazing, too.” -
