Freya Ridings Performs “Weekends” on The Graham Norton Show
London-based singer-songwriter Freya Ridings appeared on BBC One The Graham Norton Show to perform “Weekends”.
The song was released as the lead single from her upcoming sophomore album “Blood Orange” last month.
It was written by Freya Ridings, and Steve Mac, who also produced it.
She said of the song, “There was a breakup when I got given my first platinum disc for 'Lost Without You'. I had no one to call and I was sat alone in a bar in King's Cross. I'd chosen to put the energy into my career, and you miss so many birthdays, people just stop inviting you because they don't think you're around. It looks as though I had thousands of people around me, but actually I was the most alone I've ever been. So that song felt like me being scarily honest with myself, which was hard.”
The new album is set to be released on May 5, 2023. It is her first album in four years since the 2019 debut album “Freya Ridings”.- source : BBC One
