Ashnikko Premieres New Song “You Make Me Sick!” on BBC Radio 1
London-based American singer-songwriter Ashton Nicole Casey, aka Ashnikko premiered a new song “You Make Me Sick!” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.
The song is her first music in two years since the 2021 “Halloweenie IV: Innards” and the debut album “DEMIDEVIL”
Ashnikko said in a press release, “I've decided to come back with my angriest, most cathartic song to date. My own personal rage room for me to smash my plates.”
The track was written by Ashton Nicole Casey, Oscar Scheller, and Slinger who also produced it.
Ashnikko told Clara Amfo about the song, “Lyrics are pure rage. It's basically, just me going into a musical rage room and trashing my eggs. Something I love to do. It's good. I need to I need that catharsis. I'm not actually going to kill you. I'll just make a song about it. It's basically like a full catharsis. So basically, someone leaving your system like expelling this toxic waste basically”- The accompanying music video was directed by Saam Farahmand.
Ashnikko said of the video, “It's explosive. There's a lot of bad that's the BBC Radio One approved term. There's a lot of bad there's a lot of goo. I always seem every time I do a music video. I always go home covered and grill. Somehow after every single shoot I do I end up sticky and gooey. It's pretty gross and my makeup artist is not having it.”
The song will appear on her upcoming sophomore album. she said, “I'm so excited. So Tom (executive produce) played me this B. And I was like I got some things to talk about. I really I got some emotions to some demons to exercise out of my body. So he put that that'd be on and he went home and I'm just in the studio, like head banging so hard. I went home. I lost my voice for a week. It was worth it. I had a lot. I had a lot that I needed to expel and it felt good after I did it. I was like he's gonna be mad about this.” - source : BBC Radio 1
