  • Taylor Swift Drops New Music Video for “Lavender Haze”

  • American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift has dropped a new music video for “Lavender Haze”.

The song is included on her tenth studio album “Midnights”, which was released last October.
It was written by Taylor Swift, Jack Antonoff, Zoë Kravitz, Mark Anthony Spears, Jahaan Akil Sweet and Sam Dew.
The videdo was directed by Taylor Swift herself.
Taylor Swift shared on social media, “The Lavender Haze video is out now. There is lots of lavender. There is lots of haze. There is my incredible costar Laith Ashley who I absolutely adored working with. This was the first video I wrote out of the 3 that have been released, and this one really helped me conceptualize the world and mood of Midnights, like a sultry sleepless 70's fever dream. Hope you like it.”
  • “Lavender Haze is track 1 on Midnights,” she said of the song. “I happened upon the phrase 'lavender haze' when I was watching Mad Men. I looked it up because I thought it sounded cool. And it turns out that it's a common phrase used in the '50s where they would describe being in love. If you're in the 'lavender haze,' then that meant you were in that all-encompassing love glow. And I thought that was really beautiful.”
She continued, “I guess, theoretically, when you're in the 'lavender haze,' you'll do anything to stay there. And not let people bring you down off of that cloud. I think that a lot of people have to deal with this now, not just like 'public figures,' because we live in the era of social media, and if the world finds out if you're in love with somebody they're going to weigh in on it. Like my relationship for six years we've had to dodge weird rumors, tabloid stuff, and we just ignore it. So this song is about the act of ignoring that stuff to protect the real stuff.”

  • The album “Midnights” debuted atop the Billboard 200 with 1.57 million units and marked Swift's fifth album to open with over one million copies sold. She tied Barbra Streisand for the most number-one albums among women (11), and also became the first artist in history to monopolize the Hot 100's entire top 10, with "Anti-Hero", "Lavender Haze", "Maroon", and "Snow on the Beach" featuring Lana Del Rey occupying the top four spots.
Also, she was nominated for International Song of the Year, Best Country Song, Best Song Written for Visual Media, and Best Music Video at the 65th Annual Grammy Award.
The ceremony will be held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on February 5, 2023.
