Circa Waves Announces New Album “Never Going Under”, Premieres New Song “Do You Wanna Talk” on BBC Radio 1
Liverpool-based alt-rock band Circa Waves, consisting of Kieran Shudall (vocals/guitar), Sam Rourke (bass), Colin Jones (drums) and Joe Falconer (lead guitar), announced their fifth studio album “Never Going Under” would be released on January 13, 2023 via PIAS.
The band premiered a new song “Do You Wanna Talk” from the album on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo on September 22, 2022.
The song is the second single off of the album, following “Hell On Earth”.
It was written and produced by Kieran Shudall. The accompanying music video was directed by Joe Falconer of Circa Waves.
The band frontman Kieran Shudall told Clara Amfo, “I'm really happy with it very excited for people to hear it. It's a bit of a bar, I think. Do you think so? I don't know, you let me know. Enjoy, in the kitchen, living room or in a car, or wherever you may be situated. Hope you're well, people at home, enjoy the music. Peace and Love.”- The new album comprises 11-track. It is their first album in three years since the 2020 album “Sad Happy”.
Kieran Shudall said of the album, “Never Going Under speaks to that uniquely modern phenomenon of genuinely not knowing what type of world our kids are going to find themselves in 30 years. Physically, environmentally, politically we are completely in the unknown. That scares us all but ultimately we know we can never give up on the future because how can you? The songs on the album are written differently from the previous work we've put out. They are written from the perspective of my son and also from my own current experience of the climate today. Circa waves have always had a certain world view, but now it's through that lens of being a father and still not knowing what the hell is going on. Never Going Under is a snapshot of the fear we all feel today and the resilience we will need to get through it.” - source : BBC Radio 1
