Loyle Carner Premieres New Song “Nobody Knows (Ladas Road)” on BBC Radio 1
British rapper Loyle Carner premiered a new song “Nobody Knows (Ladas Road)” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.
The song is taken from his upcoming third album "hugo".
It was written by Loyle Carner, kwes., Nick Mills, Morgan Simpson, and Thomas Lee Barrett. Produced by kwes. and Nick Mills.
The accompanying music video was directed by Uunnccaannyy.
Loyle Carner told Clara Amfo about the song, “I'm a bit more free to be honest and to speak about the free 60 of what it is to be a human being and the song is about some hard bits learning to forgive and learning to not pass that generational pain and trauma dance on my son. Also about being mixed race and trying to figure out where I fit in this world and seemingly growing up feeling like I fit nowhere, you know, so the reason I call it that I think is because that house in that area reminds me of quite a tumultuous time in my life of not really knowing where where to sit, wanting to fit in but not fitting in and wanting to be loved and not necessarily always feeling that from the places I wanted it. But you have to break the cycle and turn around and instead of taking the hate coming down from generations, especially in the male gaze, trying to take the love of my son and pass that back upwards, so that's what I'm feeling.”- The new album comprises 10-track, featuring guest appearance from John Agard, and is set to be released on October 21, 2022.
He said, “I guess that's why I wanted to put hate first because you can't you can't build up to that. There's the whole idea of hate coming up before was that that was where I was at at the beginning of this process and I was in a dark place and I had to express that. I felt very lucky to have the platform and the possibility to space to speak freely about how I was feeling but the whole idea of you know, the the changes have come up before and the album as a whole is, is a is a space for hate to dissolve and to move to a place of forgiveness and self love and all the places that I hope you know I'm getting to some places I'm at some places I'm getting to, it's a journey.” - source : BBC Radio 1
