Zambian rapper Sampa Tembo, aka Sampa the Great premiered a new song “Let Me Be Great” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.
She teamed up with Beninese singer-songwriter Angélique Kidjo on the track.

It was written by Sampa Tembo, Angelique Kidjo, Magnus Mando and Samuel Masta. Produced by Magnus “Mag44” Mando.
Sampa Tembo told Clara Amfo about the song, “'let me be great' is the artists of Bible song when you have doubts when you have fears when you stumble and fall and are just like, why won't everyone just let me be great. In the midst of looking for the inspirations I stumbled across a huge legendary queen who goes by the name Angélique Kidjo. She reached out to me and showed me so much love and inspired me to create my own legacy to create my own name, which I hope to do with my sophomore album.”- mDrr9IQZmrM

She told Apple Music about the album, “It has the traditional spiritual elements. But then we are venturing off into worlds that are not considered Zambian music and we are creating a new genre, which is really exciting for me.”
She continued, “There's a vibration in language. That's why I'm very adamant of adding my language to the situation. You can't change it. You can't change it and you can't fake it.”
