Lissie Releases New Song “Sad” from New Album “Carving Canyons”
American singer-songwriter Elisabeth Maurus, aka Lissie released a new song “Sad” along with a music video on August 17, 2022.
The song is third single off of her upcoming fifth studio album “Carving Canyons”, following “Flowers” and “Night Moves”.
It was written by Elisabeth Maurus and Madi Diaz with production by Curt Schneider.
Lissie said of the song, “'Sad' is a song about being in the thick of anger over someone hurting you. Of wanting them to feel remorse for what they did, along with some self awareness that while forgiveness is on the horizon, they need to feel the effects of their actions. There's an impulsive & urgent burning in this song, like letting someone have it in real time. Throughout the arc of the album, I pass through the various stages of grief. And I felt like I needed to claim my right to feel enraged. My co-writer Madi Diaz and I were both able to tap into personal experience to express a universal but generally frowned upon emotion.”
The New album “Carving Canyons” comprises 12-track, featuring guest appearances from Morgan Nagler, Bre Kennedy, Sarah Buxton, Kate York, and Morgan Nagler. Produced by Curt Schneider.
The album is set to be released on September 16, 2022. It is her first LP in four years since the 2018 album “Castles”- source : Apple Music
