Elizabeth Premieres New Song “Happier Now” on ABC triple j
Australian singer-songwriter Elizabeth Mitchell, aka Elizabeth returned with a new song “Happier Now” on June 22, 2022.
It is her first music in three years since the 2019 debut album “The Wonderful World of Nature”.
The song received its first play during triple j with Declan Byrne.
The track was written by Elizabeth Mitchell and Toby Dundas with production by Konstantin Kersting.
Elizabeth Mitchell said of the song, “Happier Now is about the feelings that come after a heartbreak, you know, you are getting better, you are healthier, you won't fall apart if you see your ex at a party. But you also start to have the rose coloured nostalgia for a relationship that was no good and wondering what could have been if you'd been able to make it work.”
The accompanying music video was directed by Nick Mckk and Elizabeth. The clip was filmed on Boon Wurrung and Bunurong land in South East Victoria.
Nick Mckk said, “Elizabeth and I wanted to start the suite with a sort of 'muscle memory' choreographed movement. As the suite progresses, we will see why. It's an elemental washing clean of hindsight on Boonwurrung Country.”- Photo by Nick McKinlay
