Khalid Premieres New Song “Skyline” on BBC Radio 1
American singer-songwriter Khalid premiered a new song “Skyline” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.
The song will appear on his upcoming third studio album “Everything Is Changing”.
He wrote the song in 2020. Khalid told Clara Amfo about the song, “I've been writing music for this album. It's 2020 I felt like a lot of the songs were very dramatic. It's sad, melancholy. This song to me is just a recharge. Like full summer vibe. Now hopefully it calms my fans and gets them through the dark times that we are going through.”
He continued, “We deserve joy deserve love, and we deserve life. And if I can be a very vessel and give that to my fans and the people who support me, that's what I want to do.”- The new album is expected to be released later this year. He said of the album title, “Seriously, when I came up with the album name, I felt like I was going through such a transitional period of time even in my life. My friends were changing and fluctuating and I'm losing relationships that once were dear to me, building a relationship with myself and I've grown over the past few years I've changed when I came into this industry. I was just this naive boy that was just struck by all the lights and once the pandemic happened not really be set to center I started to focus on gratitude and being thankful of what's in front of me but what I have because a lot of things in this life are out of our control. So it's a growing process and I feel like the album name was the most fitting for what I'm going through in my life right now.”
