Blue Violet Releases New Song “Halo”
Anglo-Scottish alt-pop duo Blue Violet, consisting of Sam Gotley and Sarah Gotley, released a new song “Halo” from their upcoming debut album “Late Night Calls”.
The track was written by Sam Gotley and Sarah Gotley. Produced by Rob Ellis.
Blue Violet said of the song, “Like ‘Labyrinth’, in the song it feels like there’s a woman lost in another place and a man who rules over it. In most of our writing there is a narrative that runs throughout and provides a metaphorical theme. In this case we really did have this surreal vision of an underworld in our heads when we wrote it, and we tried to make the music match by adding in things like key changes and a bridge that was completely different sonically to the rest of the song. But it is also figurative for how it feels to willingly surrender yourself to something new; something dark that takes you out of your comfort zone. People tend to shy away from moments like that in life, although they often provide us with extremely profound experiences.”- The accompanying music video was directed by Jarred Figgins, starring Lianca Heemro and Sam Jordan.
The video is the 4th their ollaborative series with Jarred Figgins.
The duo shared on social media, “This is the 4th and final instalment in our collaborative series with Jarred Figgins who has once again provided the prefect visual accompaniment to our music. This time a stylish film noir aesthetic adding to the surrealist nature of the song. Jarred, we can’t thank you enough for bringing these stories to life on the screen and so glad you came over to London so we could try our acting skills out 😜 ”
