Maren Morris Releases New Song “Nervous”
American country music singer-songwriter Maren Morris will release her third major label studio album “Humble Quest” on March 25, 2022 via Columbia Nashville.
The album was produced by Greg Kurstin and she wrote the songs with her husband Ryan Hurd, Julia Michaels, Jimmy Robbins, Natalie Hemby, Laura Veltz and Jon Green.
From the album, she released the third single called “Nervous”, following “Circles Around This Town” and “Background Music”.
It was written by Maren Morris, Natalie Hemby and Jimmy Robbins.
Maren Morris told Apple Music of the song, “Definitely left turn for me. And it's so funny to say that because I have done so many random turns in my sound and my career, but I mean, I did an EDM song, so it's like, 'What do you do?' And I was just writing with Natalie Hemby that day. She brings it out of me … We've written together for 10 years, but that was a title she brought in and we didn't have a ton of ideas yet. But then Jimmy Robbins just started playing on electric and I was like, 'This is… Okay, let's keep going.' And yeah, I don't know, I just really channeled my inner Fiona Apple on this one.”
She continued, “I loved that. Yeah, it was like, rough up the vocal, keep it super… It's not a pretty song. But yeah, I definitely vocally, it was a fun challenge just to fire on all cylinders and not try to be coquettish or vulnerable. It was like, 'This is just… F**k it.'”- uwT6uSFLW8M

The new album comprises 11-track and is her first LP in three years since the 2019 album “Girl”, which was nominated for Best Country Duo/Group Performance at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards.
She began writing the songs of the album in the beginning of the pandemic. Maren Morris explained, “What do you write about when the show can't go on? I think every songwriter in the world had a few months of that question at the beginning of the pandemic.”
The concept of the album was inspired by a question she often asked herself.
She said, “Am I humble enough now… maybe. Or maybe I still haven't found it yet. Or maybe, who cares as long as your friends and, most importantly, you know what your heart is all about? But here's to taking the quest to find out.”- source : Apple Music
