Priya Ragu Premieres New Song “Illuminous” on BBC Radio 1
Sri Lankan-Swiss singer-songwriter Priya Ragu premiered a new song “Illuminous” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.
The song is her first music since her debut mixtape “damnshestamil”
It was written by Priya Ragu, and her brother Japhna Gold, who also produced the track. The accompanying music video was directed by Silence.
Priya Ragu said of the song, “I believe we all are beings of light. Before we have entered this world, while we have this human experience and after we leave this earth. I also believe that we all have this one true unique gift, that could bring us back to our true selves. And once you have found that one thing that is called passion, the light within you shines so bright that you become invincible. This is how I feel at this stage in my life and with this song I want to encourage others to find that one thing.”- Priya Ragu told Clara Amfo, “This song is about me when I chose music, and I stepped into our power, and it's just about how I feel currently. I feel like when you choose something that you love to do, and we choose passion, as when you shine from inside out. So the song was produced by my brother, Japhna Gold with me. We got into studio and the song came out.”
