Vance Joy Premieres New Song “Don't Fade” on triple j
Australian singer-songwriter Vance Joy premiered a new song “Don't Fade” along with a music video on triple j.
The song will appear on his as-yet-untitled upcoming third album.
It was written by Dave Bassett and Vance Joy. Produced by hitmaking duo Take a Day Trip, Dave Bassett, Dave Longstreth, and Edwin White.
The accompanying music video was directed by And Idea, Agueda Sfer and Macari De Golferichs Moliné.
“I wrote 'Don't Fade' with my friend and frequent songwriting partner Dave Bassett toward the end of 2019,” Vance Joy said of the song. “It came as a surprise and felt like a special discovery. I like writing about that feeling of timelessness you get when you're with someone you love. When we came to produce the song, I had the great fortune to work with Take a Daytrip, Edwin White and David Longstreth (of Dirty Projectors). Writing this song was the starting point for my new album. I knew I was on a path somewhere once this song came along.”
He told triple j about the new album, “This feels new and surprising and cool. It got the ball rolling to start writing songs for this next album. We got all the deadlines at the moment to finish off all these songs.”- source : triple j
