Saweetie Releases New Song “Closer” featuring H.E.R.
American rapper Saweetie teamed up with American singer-songwriter H.E.R. to release a new song “Closer”.
The song is taken from Saweetie's upcoming debut album “Pretty Bitch Music”.
It was written by Alyssa Lourdiz Cantu, Bradley Powell, Diamontè Harper, Gabriella Wilson, Randall Hammers, Ryan Ogren and Samuel Ahana. Produced by DJ Swish, Kaine and Ryan Ogren.
The album features guest appearances from Jhené Aiko, Doja Cat and H.E.R. She finished the album in Paris.
Last year, she told HollywoodLife, “I went to Paris to finish my album [and] now I'm just living with it to ensure it's perfect. A new album is something serious. I need to know that when I release this kid of mine because as artists we feel our products are our babies, that no matter what anybody says, I'll know that it's my best work. I'm really challenging myself and I just want to ensure that I put out a body of work that [will] symbolize art.”
The album is expected to be released later this year.- Also, she is nominated for 2022 Grammy Awards for Best Rap Song with "Best Friend" featuring Doja Cat and Best New Artist.
She said, “I was sleeping, so when I woke up, I received the news and I was just so shocked because it's the Grammys. It's my first nominations, so I'm just honored to be a part of the conversation.”
The ceremony will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on April 3, 2022. -
