Omar Apollo Premieres New Song “Invincible” featuring Daniel Caesar on BBC Radio 1
American singer-songwriter Omar Apollo premiered a new song “Invincible” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.
This time, he teamed up with Canadian singer-songwriter Daniel Caesar on the track.
It was written by Omar Velasco, Ashton Simmonds and Matthew Sean Leon. Produced by Daniel Caesar.
The accompanying music video was directed by Stillz.
The song will appear on his upcoming debut album “Ivory”, which is set to be released on April 8, 2022.
Omar Apollo told Clara Amfo about the song, “I think that's where all my songs kind of stemmed from is like over romanticize love. The song is a different meaning. I feel like the meaning will be understood more when you watch the video. But it's kind of like there's like kind of two meanings, but it's cool.”- He continued, “I haven't been trying to visualize way more when I'm writing I feel like it comes along like easier when you actually like have an idea and execute it. Because I used to do that like on accident sometimes like all the songs about, but if you don't have that intention, it's kind of like a senseless kind of direction. So it's nice to like have a theme, because then you know what's right about it.”
He said of a working with Daniel Caesar, “We made the song together. We made a few songs, but this one was the one that really stuck for me. And then we met like during the pandemic and discover the coolest hang out and come over and go over there and just like I'd see him out and then it was really cool. He's the best I love him.” - source : BBC Radio 1
