John Newman Returns With New Song “Waiting For A Lifetime”
Back in 2020, British singer-songwriter John Newman announced he was taking a break from the music industry, and that he had left his record label and his artist management company. due to his mental health issues.
In July 2021, he returned and teamed up with David Guetta and MistaJam to release “If You Really Love Me (How Will I Know)”, which was a cover of Whitney Houston's “How Will I Know”.
Following the song, he released a new song “Waiting For A Lifetime” on January 14, 2022.
It was written by John Newman. He changed his music style to EDM after hiatus and started to play the music as DJ.
He told NME about the song is as “the embodiment of releasing the chains and making myself happy, which I realised I'd been waiting so long to be able to do.”
He continued, “There's a lyric in it – 'flashing lights, leave my tears on the dancefloor, empty nights, I've been holding on for something more' – and that is literally about the idea of running around the world, trying to escape every emotion and hide from everything I've ever done wrong or been embarrassed of. It got to the point where I needed to write that song and when I did, I instantly felt so much better.”- zS5NucSJqVY
