Madrugada Releases New Song “Ecstasy” from New Album “Chimes At Midnight”
Norwegian alt-rock band Madrugada, consisting of Sivert Høyem, Frode Jacobsen and Jon Lauvland Pettersen, has released a new song “Ecstasy” from their upcoming sixth studio album “Chimes At Midnight”.
The track was written by Frode Jacobsen, Jon Lauvland Pettersen and Sivert Høyem. Produced by Kevin Ratterman.
The accompanying music video was directed by Eivind Holmboe.
The new album is set to be released on January 28, 2022 and comprises 12-track. It is their first album in 14 years since the 2008 self-titled album.
Sivert Høyem said of the album, “It was as if the last piece of the puzzle had slipped into place. I had never felt so comfortable on stage. It was no stress at all, very different from before, where I always felt great stress.”
He continued, “Each of us brought melodies and ideas, which was very beneficial to the creative process. And then we just saw where we were headed. We still had the 'Industrial Silence' album in our veins after we played it played live on the tour and I had the feeling that there was a direct connection to our formative years. No matter what we touched - it sounded like MADRUGADA in the end.”- Frode Jacobsen said, “We had a tight schedule. We booked into the Sunset Sound Studio in Los Angeles at the end of February and had about a month and a half to develop the material and get it into shape. It went like clockwork. We were still high from touring and took that energy with us into the recording booth”.
Lauvland Pettersen said, “The process was fundamentally different from recording my last album with the band ['The Nightly Disease', 2001]. Back then, it was a classic case of 'second album syndrome' - we didn't have much prepared, but just went in and tried to get the most out of the time. This time the material was not only written in advance, but also carefully arranged”. - source : Apple Music
