Jessica Mauboy Returns With New Song “Glow”
Australian R&B singer-songwriter Jessica Mauboy has returned with a new song “Glow”.
It is her first music since the 2019 album “Hilda”. Also, the song is her first single under her new label Warner Music Australia. Last December, she left Sony and singed to Warner Music Australia.
The track was written by George Maple, Cosmo Liney, Jessica Mauboy and Patrick Liney. The accompanying music video was directed by Ribal Hosn.
“I got tired of being a 'yes person',” Jessica Mauboy said in a statement. “Mentally, it was self-destructive: my body and my mind were saying, Hey, you gotta really take care of yourself. Glow stems from realising it's okay to stop, zoom out and start over fresh. I really wanted to capture that sense of knowing myself. Glow is my confidence song; It's my reminder that I'm where I need to be, that I'm just being. And that's okay.”
She continued, “I had all the in-depth thoughts while writing 'Glow', but also I just felt sparkly. I felt new. I felt rebooted. And I wanted it to feel like you've known this song forever.”
She added, “Glow came from a place of being in love with myself. And I think everyone has, through these past two years, had time to understand what and who they are. When it does get quiet, you hear and see yourself a little bit more.”-
