The song was written by Ed Sheeran, Happy Perez, Benny Blanco, Khalid and Halsey.
Benny Blanco is best known as Grammy winner for Best Pop Vocal Album with "÷" by Ed Sheeran, Best Urban Contemporary Album "Starboy" by The Weeknd, Best Urban Contemporary Album with "Unapologetic" by Rihanna and Best Pop Vocal Album with "Unorthodox Jukebox" by Bruno Mars.
This time, he released the song under his own name.

Benny Blanco told Zane Lowe of Beats 1 about the song;
